Taryn Treisman was born in Johannesburg South Africa in 1984. Treisman began painting at an early age and developed her passion for art and artists in her youth. Treisman’s paintings are influenced mostly by Fauvism and Expressionism, but also by Art Deco and Pop-Art. “I love creating art and enjoy making use of vibrant colors, abstraction and distortions to portray human emotions and passions”. Some of Taryn’s favorite artists include Matisse, Chagall, Monet and Baruch Nachshon.Treisman’s inspiration is drawn from the colorful people and events that have impacted her life. Treisman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Johannesburg- (previously known as Rau). Treisman enjoys painting South African themes, depicting Nelson Mandela’s dream of a “rainbow nation”. She hopes to portray South Africa in a positive light and create designs that are full of energy, vibrancy and color. “I have always been fascinated with the traditional African attire and love integrating the variety of African cultures into my designs.” Treisman’s themes include Judaic art and flower designs. These designs are also vibrant, bold, energetic and colorful. Treisman began painting Judaic themes after her near death experience in the 2004 South East Asia Tsunami in which she was holidaying in Thailand at the time. “ The tsunami opened my eyes to a whole new world of humanity, it was incredible to witness first hand everyone coming together to help each other. After surviving the Tsunami my connection with g-d has grown stronger, thus enabling me to express my passion for Judaism by creating traditional Judaic art.” Treisman is hopeful that her paintings and artwork will inspire others by creating a positive light of energy in their homes.”
